20 years ago ! The first house we lived in for a year was a beautiful round mud house, or radius 6 feet, with a thatched roof. One side of the wall had a small mud stove built in. A trunk served as a table. The mats were in the attic and would come down at night. It was more than enough.
As more guests came, and our child also we moved into a bigger mud house - 400 feet, and three rooms. The village was aghast that such a huge space was needed for 3 people ! And the village children claimed and took over the first room as theirs.
