Dharampalji
Dharampalji in the verandah of the kuti he used to live in Sevagram Ashram.
Dharampalji traversed centuries in simple conversation over chai, often citing an anecdote here a document there, searching for those props that will help re-create strength among ordinary Indians...ordinary folks for whom he always made time even as scholars, professors and politicians and leaders often waited to see him.
"So what is so great about India", he once queried a 'nationalist' party functionary, and after a pause continued, "that the ordinary people of this country have figured out that all things in nature are connected, and, they have managed to build a way of life around this understanding". i am yet to see anyone summarize India in a simpler and easier language.
