Varna Vyavastha, Caste System, Modern Market Economics

  • There needs a structural change to Bharat way of life. I strongly think, we need to understand more on Varna vyavasta. The moment you say this, people start criticizing that you are talking regressive. But we have not atleast for a comparative study purpose not understood life in Varna vyavasta vs life in market economy aka capitalism/socialism based systems, which are the hierarchy based top down models originated in the west!
These systems are evolved from the concept of state which is based on Devine right theory, which is further theorized from the catholic Christian theology( s Gurumurthy has a detailed video on it)
Land is commoditized, and bought and sold. Whereas in Varna vyavasta land was mother never bought and sold.
Then what kind of economic activity used to help the rastra? How was it run? Not in invaders time, but before it and even during invaders time how was it in Krishna Devaraya time Shivaji time,. Raja bhoja time etc need to be understood.
The classification of rich and poor I feel wasn't relevant that time, as society was not running on money based system!
It used to run based on devision of work not based on devision of resources. Hence, someone holding on to more resources can never occur, as no one can have entitlements on land for example, as it was considered mother.
A deeper understanding and debate deliberation only can get us a lasting sustainable system.
Rest everything is experiments which keep failing.

  • The present systems have failed us, yes. Both the Left and Right are unable to question consumerism and indefinite growth. We need other thinkings and searchings.

  • If some one has info,I need to understand, only around hundred years back land survey came, which accelerated the globalisation!
A person in Delhi can hold land in palagutrapalli, and can keep it secret.
But, before the advent of this, how was the system?
I think, Bharata rajas followed dharma based rajyabara, and Varna vyavasta was present!
With that in force, even in terms of GDP, Bharata was no 1 for 17 centuries according to Angus Madison's economic history research done by the European union!
So, a detailed study of Varna and jati vyavasta need to be studied.
Many people say,it was oppressive, if it were oppressive, how? How many starved to death? Etc data is unavailable,
Bengal famine is purely British created.
How Brahmins were oppressive? How can they deny anything? When they are not entitled on any resources, not just them, any Varna for that matter was not entitled for land or any other resources!
So,these questions make one highly suspicious and smell propaganda in the modern discourse on Varna and jati vyavasta, and we need to understand by wearing Bharat lens, not the western lens.
