Very few people are aware that it is Navjivan trust founded by him in Ahmedabad that Gandhiji considered his real heir and hence he bestowed everything "tangible and intangible" that he owned to Navjivan trust.
On legal expiry of Gandhiji's "copyright", government offered another 30 year extension to the copyright to the trust.
This was also done in case of Robindranath Tagore and Shantiniketan enjoys the earnings from this extended copyright.
Navjivan trust refused the extension and allowed MKG to go public without a moments hesitation as it being a Gandhian institution, it saw its bigger role to allow others to join in spreading Gandhian thoughts.
