Our endless chatter

Our endless chatter.

Our chatter of how we gave up our jobs and moved to villages. People have lived in villages forever. With no fuss.

Our chatter of how we grow our own vegetables. People grow rice and wheat and vegetables for the whole country. Against desperate odds. With no fuss.

Our chatter of how we cycle and bus, and rarely use private transport. People walk, and use even bus rarely to save the bus charge. With no fuss.

Our chatter of how we compost and reduce waste. People feed their vegetable waste to their cows, and everything else goes to the manure heap. They use firewood, they use mud posts. They recycle everything. With no fuss.

Our chatter of how we plant trees. People plant trees, use the dead wood for cooking. Use the leaves as manure. have a relationship with trees which they nurture, and by which they are nurtured.

Our chatter of how we build eco-friendly homes. And use eco-friendly cleaners. People live in homes of mud, tiles, thatch. They mop their homes with cowdung. With no fuss.

We make such a fuss about so little.

And so at days end one seeks the people. Seeks that space of simplicity and harmony. Without fuss.
