The gift of bangles.

Daughter, "Amma, Lakshmikantha pinni is calling me home. Immediately. She says the bangle seller has come, and she will get me bangles."

She reached out for the purse. I took it away quietly. She, "How can I let her pay ?"
I said, "Go, she wants to get them for you. "

To accept from people far poorer than ourselves, who give from their nothing, is one of the hardest things to do. And yet, it teaches us lessons nothing else can.

Lessons if humility. Lessons of what giving can mean. A glimpse of infinity.

And raises the bar for us. Forever.

My daughter returned with blue bangles glitter ing on both arms.

And a dozen red gold speckled bangles. Lakshmikantha had bought and sent for me.
