A group of enterprising women in a small village called "Paalaguttapalle" in Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh make spectacular quality bags, customised to your needs. They even supply to conferences worldwide. They make bags with lovely screen prints, kalamkari panels and embroidery.

Living in a drought hit area, they had to shift from agriculture to sustain themselves and so they created opportunities for themselves in the stitching segment with the aid of some wonderful souls like Aparna, Lavanya, Arun, Vignesh, Srinivas and other friends who help them with some accounting and design details, but the business is their own.

These women might not be tech savy (yet) or know how to use the internet and reach a greater base for their products, but they sure do know the meaning of "quality work" and how to intentionally create with love.
These women are dignified, earnest and super skilled in their art. They are earning with grace and fighting hardships with honour.

These bags are much more than bags to me. They are a symbol of perseverance, dignity, honesty and empowerment. Please say my heartfelt thankyou to these empowered women, who are crossing or atleast making efforts to cross any hurdles life throws their way.

The first thing i noticed about the bags is the love with which they are made. That is how they stand out from so many other products in the market. They have the innocence to give their best which sometimes gets lost in hard business world, where its all about the money. Quality is beyond excellent.
