A story from youth
Long years ago, some of us, then young and searching for directions to engage productively with social issues had met. There this close friend, who immediately after his IIT had embarked on work with artisans, traditional technologies, weavers etc. , referring to his path explained, "For some years I wore only khadi. Till I realized that there was a deeply embedded sense of superiority building up in me. So then I stopped wearing khadi'.
An older dear friend remarked to me on the side, 'So instead of giving up feeling superior, he gave up khadi'.
The pitfalls on the path are many.
