The rock filled dam we put along the stream as one of many water harvesting efforts. The farmers did voluntary work for this.
This is the amount of sand that got collected over two seasons - the erosion is such. Both sides were at the same level to start with.
Sand in the river acts as a sponge, and the farmers on either side are keen to protect the sand. Their mango trees flourish.
