In a village everyone is a friend of everyone else. There is a familiarity that nourishes the soul. Damalcheruvu is 7 km from our village, and on the route to Chittoor.

Village vignettes - The idli shop at Damalcheruvu
The idli dosai shop at Damalcheruvu. Where we pack our breakfast when we are coming from the village to Chennai. She's an old friend now because for decades we have been on that route, and keep seeing each other over idlis. We have both seen each other age down the years. I just realized now that I do not know her name. It does not matter. She calls me Akka, and I call her Akka. (elder sister !)
