Village vignettes - once water is there ...

Once there is water, there is the chance to work, and people work. Once the village bore got reactivated after the rains and there was water in the street taps, Annapurna planted up the patch of land behind her house.

Brinjals, chillies, tomatoes, tuar dal 'tree', cluster beans, coriander, greens. And gave me some each day, which local generosity I have learnt to accept gratefully.

Villages and village people simply need access to basic resources. A peice of land to call their own and water.
