Intolerance

Intolerence that shows as violence need not be the most problematic.

The intolerence of the educated that looks down on village practices of health and agriculture, on village gods who anchor the various aspects of life, on their practices of invoking the spirits for various situations, on village mores of using cowdung and cow urine actually make entire communities look down on themselves.

That intolerance subsumes the victim to a level where he also cannot tolerate himself. We, the educated, school the village youth into looking down on their own.

I wish every discourse would go down to essentials, and every criticism also need holding a mirror to oneself.
