Mahima Thangappan Disasters in farming practices are always a result of 50 - 100 years of ignoring nature.
Komakkambedu Himakiran by Congress/BJP policy makers in Delhi, economic advisors in Mumbai!
Mahima Thangappan Noyyal riveruma ????
Komakkambedu Himakiran Of course, who decides that we should export clothes to the world? Who defines our agricultural and livestock policies? Who decides economic policies that destroy villages? Who goes to Davos to sell out India's interests? Who decides that India should be part of WTO!
Ramya Sathpurush who decides to dump waste into the rivers?
Komakkambedu Himakiran Before jumping to defend BJP, people should understand how Delhi/Mumbai works. BJP and congress are the same when it comes to macroeconomic policies. Congress came up with MNREG but Modi comes and says it's the worst scheme of the congress and he will keep it alive just to remind people of that!

See how Panama Papers are not mentioned at all?

If you want to understand how close BJP and congress are to each other, talk to friends in Delhi social circles!

Komakkambedu Himakiran Who supports GMO?

Only congress and BJP, why? Simple they sell India wholesale from Delhi and Mumbai.
Ramya Sathpurush Ofcourse Delhi is to be blamed but we are to be blamed too... we cant say we are totally innocent and shift blame on govt
Ramya Sathpurush They can support gmo all they want but unless we decide to use gmo it cant enter our place
Arun Vignesh M Who banned Jallikattu recently and is pushing native cattle to extinction!?
Komakkambedu Himakiran Not really, once Maharashtra introduces, it will be pushed through by contamination. Look how Javadekar says farmers are smuggling in GMOs!
Komakkambedu Himakiran Also seeds given by govt are subsidized and farmed buy them; so if govt decides, we can't do anything.
Komakkambedu Himakiran Until BJP and Congress are relegated to the sidelines, we will continue to suffer.
Aparna Krishnan and the 'free choice' we like to talk about, is anything but free these days. on all fronts, ramya.
Ramya Sathpurush And the other parties are not going to sell us ?
Komakkambedu Himakiran They can't in wholesale. They still have to come to the people for votes. We have access to them; see how all parties are talking about prohibition, organic farming, water body management?

BJP will talk about what west wants like make in India, GMOs, FDI!

Again, state parties are lesser evil and can be replaced; BJP and Congress are entrenched in Lutyens Delhi and are one and the same!
Ramya Sathpurush Again, who decided to dump the waste in noyyal? it was us, we are to be blamed for polluting our rivers
Balakumar Somu It is getting more and more difficult for people to defend the Union Government headed by BJP. How can someone defend the 'land-grabbing' law that BJP was trying to push through so adamantly to grab the land of farmers and give it off to even private companies?

How can someone defend the BJP Government inaction feigning 'helplessness' in the Jallikattu issue? (I even know some leaders openly asking us "Will you vote for BJP if we give Jallikattu?"

How can someone defend the proposed 'New Motor Vehicles Act' which will render hundreds of thousands of small mechanics, driving school instructors, ancillary parts producers etc jobless in one stroke and give it on a platter to some MNC (or Adani?)
Komakkambedu Himakiran Of course, we are to blame but who destroyed the sustainable village economy; not the Brits but consecutive Govts in Delhi.
Ramya Sathpurush no one is defending the BJP here. What im saying is we cant blame the govt(whichebver is it) totally
Komakkambedu Himakiran Of course we can't blame the govt totally, as the real blame rests with the lobbies in Delhi/Mumbai! The Bullet Train lobby!

Prakash Thangavel Who allowed setting up sugar cane factories in rain deficient areas and made farmers to switch to sugar cane from rain fed crops by canvassing and subsidizing bore wells?
Kompella Sarma Business man do lot of thing, it is just buying Pepsi ...
Komakkambedu Himakiran Agricultural policies, WTO membership are decided by policy makers and politicians.

If people had their say, things would be much better.
Arun Vignesh M ^^^^ Had the current government been that if Moderate Hindutvas ie Congress instead of Aggressive Hindutvas ie #RSS-#BJP then Kompella's comment might have been different.
Komakkambedu Himakiran Education? That's the bane of this country! Disastrous policies have all come from the best of the best from the educated lot!
Sambasivam Kunniyur S It's a cycle which all have to go through. Irrespective of whichever govt it is this thing is not going to change. There is an opportunity cost which ppl gambled in last 20 yrs out of farming. So things can change. Education is not a bane - if so you won't be using the technology and discussing. Greed is the actual cost for this.
Komakkambedu Himakiran What cycle? Any nation/country/empire that neglected its farmers has been left in ruins. WTO is the problem. Please read the what's been happening since 1995. Our economic genius and Govts sell our country's interests there. Since 2004, when the lobbyists took over fully, this is what's happening with our foreign policy, agriculture, economy.

What technology? Failed technology? Why experiment with real lives? Are farmers Guinea pigs?
Komakkambedu Himakiran There has not been one technological innovation since 1970s that can be identified as for public good. Science has long been coopted by big business.
