Individualism vs. a balanced society

A sane society sets some reasonable demands, and gives a reasonable protection to all its members. Maybe that is the society we need to look for. There will be some 'archy' there – matriarchy or patriarchy. There will be some norms. The challenge is to keep it open to discussions and in the realms of reasonableness.

A small, sensible society is preferable to an individualistic world. Individualism, as a cult, can be oppressive. Individualism may also weaken the weak. In a 'each to his own', theory it is also 'the devil take the hindmost'.

In any society, some individuals will make their choices ... but the larger general framework needs a concerned chooseing.
