Efforts are made to 'preserve local knowlege' ... if we cannot preserve the
community, if villages die away due to unemployment or displacements ...
we do not deserve their accumulated heritage.

The utter generosity of the poor humbles us. They give rice to every mendicant even when their rice is getting over. That is what they are defined by.
