Urban prejudices - 1

Our neighbours and children drop by and share what we are eating. Annasamy Anna comes daily and has tea with me. All plates and glasses are obviously the same. Our village is an SC hamlet.

I told my daughter that in many urban home seperate glasses as kept even today for 'maids'. She asked why. I said the urban employers say that they may not brush their teeth so it is not 'hygenic'.

Then she said that the village people brush their teeth so much better than we do, and for much longer. Which is true. Their neem stick brushing goes on for half an hour unlike the hurried urban teeth brushing of a minute !
