The live and current casteism is on the
modern-schooled/modern-unschooled and english-fluent/inidan-language-fluent
divide. Maybe as benefeciaries of this, we refuse to address this. And prefer
to keep brahmin bashing. The brahmins of my community at least are mostly
americans now, and not even here to be bashed !
The modern superior-most caste in India is the
person who speaks English fluently, and has some modern degrees. The shudra is
he who is fluent and learned in indian knowlege, and indian wisdom, and
sustainable hand skills like weaving and pottery.
Were we to actually
address this, we and our children would be left nowhere. I doubt if we have the
moral courage for this. I doubt if I have it.

Himakiran Anugula Well, Brahmins & Upper castes are the ones riding this class
train.
Inevitably when we debate local vs national/global, mother tongue vs Hindi/English, organic vs chemical driven, SMBs vs Corporates/MNCs, traditional vs modern medicine, Rural vs Urban,
it's the same group that will be on the opposition side. It's easy to see past their biases; if they don't support mother tongue education, it's because they fear that they won't thrive in a system without the English advantage

Himakiran Anugula Brahmin, other Upper Castes, it's all the same. The more removed
they are from the people, the moe dangerous they become to society!
